EU Contract Withdrawal for OpenMage/Magento 1
Online contract withdrawal form for OpenMage and Magento 1 stores. Customers submit a clear, two-step declaration; your team manages requests, statuses, and email updates in one place. Supports meeting EU distance-selling process requirements — not a legal audit substitute.
Give customers a clear way to withdraw from a distance contract — and give your team a structured inbox for every request.
What does the module do?
EU Contract Withdrawal adds an online withdrawal form to your OpenMage or Magento 1 storefront. Customers can submit a declaration with order and product details; the store receives a tracked request with email confirmations and an admin workflow for statuses and communication.
Key benefits
A customer-friendly withdrawal path
Guests and logged-in customers can use a public form. Account holders also get links in My Account and on order history/details, so the process is easy to find without emailing the shop.
Fewer incomplete or disputed requests
A two-step flow (form → summary → confirm) helps customers review the declaration before it is saved. After confirmation, the customer receives an email with the full content, date, and time.
Operational control in the admin
Manage requests under Sales → Contract withdrawals: view details, change statuses, add a customer-facing comment, keep an internal note, and optionally notify the customer when the status changes.
Insights that support operations
A simple product report shows which items appear most often in withdrawals — useful for returns handling and assortment decisions.
Who is it for?
OpenMage and Magento 1 merchants who sell to consumers at a distance and need a practical online channel for withdrawal declarations, plus a lightweight back-office process for follow-up.

Important notes
This module supports running an online withdrawal declaration and handling workflow related to EU distance-selling expectations (including context around Directive 2023/2673). It does not replace a legal audit of your terms, information duties, or accounting/refund process.
The module does not create payment refunds or accounting documents automatically.
Because Magento/OpenMage has no standard “goods received” date, the 14-day limit is calculated from the first shipment date (or order creation if there is no shipment). Align this with your legal counsel and store policy if needed.
Email delivery depends on your store’s mail configuration.
Installation overview
Copy the package into the Magento/OpenMage root, flush cache, re-login to admin to refresh ACL, then enable/check settings under System → Configuration → Septsite → Contract withdrawals. Detailed steps are included in the package README.
